Choosing the Right Outdoor Sauna for Your Home
Not only do saunas provide amazing health benefits, but they are also a valuable addition to any property. Our saunas have glass doors, giving you the ability to view the stunning views surrounding you and creating a soothing ambience inside the Sauna. With different options available, finding the perfect sauna can be tricky, especially if you don’t know where to start or have little knowledge of the structure. Follow this step-by-step guide to find your perfect sauna and find out what features and benefits your sauna can offer.
Before getting into our step-by-step guide, let’s start with the basics. Saunas are small, wood-lined, structural units that can be heated to a high temperature. This high temperature is kept inside the structure, making you sweat, which then causes your body to relax and has tons of health benefits, like joint pain relief and stress relief. Your heart rate will increase to pump more blood so your body can cool down, while your blood vessels will widen to help circulate to your skin. This improves your body’s blood circulation and resembles exercise since your heart rate increases, improving your overall heart health.

Step 1 – Determine Your Space
Before looking at what styles of saunas we offer, the area where this structure will be placed is incredibly important to know before moving forward. If you want your sauna against another structure, like a pool house, home office, home gym, etc., what kind of roof style would best fit this placement? This roof style depends on how you want your sauna to blend in with your other structures, if placed against them. Is there clear access to your preferred space? This is crucial for site prep and delivery of your future sauna and will help make this process much easier when ordering. Once you have your access point cleared, placement chosen, and size constraints on your property, it’s time to dig deeper into what could be the perfect sauna for you.
Step 2 – Compare Our Saunas’ Appearance
Our Saunas come in two different styles: the Lean-To and A-Frame. Each style has its own unique appearance, while they both share a few similarities. Both saunas are Amish-built and come fully assembled with amazing attention to detail and beauty. Premium cedar wood is used inside the sauna for the walls, benches, and decking. Cedar has a natural aroma and properties that make it rot-resistant, which is great for a structure that will be getting very warm and humid inside. These sauna styles also have a glass door to enter and exit the sauna, and a metal roof.

The A-Frame differs from the Lean-To with a major detail – the floor-to-ceiling glass front. Not only is the door glass, but also the entire front of the structure, allowing you to see the stunning views around you while relaxing inside. The Lean-To style has this same glass door (24” wide), but with a wooden front wall. The other huge difference is the roof style. The A-Frame roof has steep roof sides that come together at a point. The Lean-To also has a steep roof, but it is a single slope. Both styles are great for rain and snow since they will travel or melt down the slope. Tree branches will also tumble down this roof slope easily if any were to fall, preventing you from having to get on a ladder and collect them.
Depending on how much space you have on your property and what size sauna you are looking for, both styles have a few sizes to choose from. If you are looking into the A-Frame sauna, you can decide between a 6’9”x7’ and a 6’9”x9’, while the Lean-To sauna is available in 6’x7’, 6’x8’, and 6’x10’
Step 3 – Compare Our Saunas’ Standard Features

There are several features of the A-Frame and Lean-To saunas that are similar, but there are also a couple of clear differences that may make you lean one way (pun intended). Look at the more technical features of the A-Frame sauna above, and the Lean-To below. The A-Frame sauna has 2 picture windows and 1 vent, as well as one bench seat with two-level seating. The Lean-To sauna doesn’t have any windows but does have 2 vents, as well as two benches, each having two-level seating. Finally, the most important detail of these saunas… the heating element! The A-Frame sauna has a HUUM Drop heater, where you are responsible for preparing an electrical connection to the sauna. Differing from the A-Frame, the Lean-To sauna has a 6kw stainless steel heater. Have any questions about the standard features included in our saunas? Contact us – we are always willing to help!
